I love this purse!

I went looking for a multi-season, expensive looking bag because I am moving soon and wanted to pack up all my other bags. Since I usually carry high-end (Fendi, Gucci, Prada) purses, I wanted something that looked expensive but could possibly be donated to Goodwill after the move. This birkin style bag is great! Its definitely the Hermes orange but easily accessible with the top zipper. People have complimented my bag several times this week and I think it will be a great multi-purpose bag for the future (sorry goodwill, don't think you'll get this one) especially when I travel and want some items on hand. It has good inside pockets and comes with a shoulder strap that isn't shown in the picture. The stictching on the shoulder strap is a little wonky, but for $40 and for a strap will likely never use, it's ok.

Callaway Golf Womens Sport Cart

Bought this 4 years ago for $180 and love this bag so much I would pay that again. I am going to buy another at the sale price so I have one when my current one wears out (or gets too icky, because it doesn't seem like it will wear out any time soon). It is very lightweight but bag is very well-made, zippers are sturdy and don't catch.

Has 12 total pockets in small, medium and large sizes (great for extra clothing), plus 2 small pockets for sharpies, etc., and an umbrella loop. What I really like about this bag is that the pockets aren't layered on top of one another like some bags: you can load up each pocket and your stuff doesn't get "lost" under something in another pocket. It's also symmetrical, which is nice if you care about that kind of thing.

The top is shorter than a man's bag so if you're a short woman playing from a cart, you won't be on your tippy-toes pulling out clubs. Fits in my V-2 speed cart nicely. Also, have taken my clubs out once or twice and scrubbed it down with soapy water and a brush; it is somewhat "clean-able" which gives the white a little more longevity. Can't say enough good things about this product, especially at under $100!!

Consequences Volume 1 Aleatha Romig

I honestly debated reviewing this book for a few reasons - First, it's outside of my typical reading genere. Second, I'm still kinda reeling from the story. And, finally, I don't know how exactly I should rate it.

Let me explain.

This story is powerful. It's deeply moving and very emotional. And, it's completely horrific.

So, on one hand, it deserves five stars for being so good, but on the other hand, I might sleep better if I had just passed this one by. So, I am rating it 4 stars... because I did like the story even while I hated it. And, I will read the sequel, because I need to know good will triumph over evil. (SEE UPDATE)

Basically, stockholm syndrome is the name of the game here and it was intense. (I was not kidding when I said I think I need therapy.) Prepare yourself for a psychological roller coaster. Obviously, I have not experienced stockholm syndrome myself, but I can imagine that Claire's story would be exactly how awful it could be. And, the author makes us feel it right along with her. Although, many of the horrible things he does to her are not discussed in great detail (something I am very grateful for) it is plenty enough to understand and feel. Anthony was just so hard to read.. In some ways he reminded me of Ed Norton's character in the movie Primal Fear. You never knew (until the very end) which side of him was real. He used every tool imaginable to essentially make Claire lose herself - physically, mentally, and emotionally. Claire was going through the story always on edge, always walking on eggshells, but luckily always managing to make it thorough.

It's difficult to talk about the ending without giving it all away. But, I will say you learn a lot about his motivations in Claire's kidnapping and his life in general. It was a swift transition, but I think it was meant to be. The whole nothing to lose thing stuck with me quite a bit.

UPDATE:
After much thought, I decided this book deserves 5 stars not the 4 I gave it originally. The book is very well written and I don't think it's fair for me to remove a star based on my own sense of unsettlement when that is exactly how the author (masterfully) intended it.

like most of todd's music, there is both an immediacy and complexity to his songs, that will draw you in to catchy hooks, melodies, and riffs, and let you keep listening and discovering after several listens. "state" has no throwaways, and fewer weak moments since "new world order."

his tendency to overproduce is greatly restrained here; in fact there's a lot of silence. and complaints of the death of bass in his production are proven to have been premature. the bass kicks.

as always, todd is a brilliant producer, mixing his poetry of great depth, with unique, interwoven instruments, and arrangements. his voice sounds fresh, and unlike live performances, hits all the notes, and gives you something to sing after finally turning off the cd.

gotta go play "imagination" again...
